Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, ‘Operation HADIN KAI’ have arrested four suspected collaborators of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in separate intelligence-led operations conducted in Yobe and Borno States.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Captain Mohammed Goni, the operations targeted individuals suspected of supporting terrorist activities through the supply of logistics and other materials.
He said that in Yobe State, troops of the 159 Battalion under Sector 2 carried out a cordon-and-search operation in Geidam on August 3 following credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
The military said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly supplied hard drugs and other logistics to Boko Haram fighters.
Recovered items included a large quantity of suspected Indian hemp, mobile phones, power banks, torchlights, knives, lighters, cigarette rolls, Pregabalin capsules, cough syrup, identity cards, ATM cards, and ₦14,530 in cash.
In a separate operation the same day, troops of Sector 3 Garrison, working with the 242 Reconnaissance Battalion, arrested two suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers in Monguno, Borno State, following sustained surveillance of suspected terrorist supply routes.
According to the military, the suspects admitted during preliminary interrogation to transporting food items and other supplies to ISWAP fighters operating in Kwatan Dowoshi Village in Kukawa Local Government Area.
Items recovered from the suspects included cartons and sachets of assorted biscuits, Peak milk, sugar, garri, soap, headlamps, lighters, mobile phones, an assault knife, a charm belt, prayer beads, herbal medicine, ₦6,600 in cash, and other items.
Meanwhile, troops of the 222 Battalion intercepted 20 people described by the military as suspected family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) during a routine patrol along the Gezuwa axis in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The military said the group comprised nine women, two men, eight female minors and one male minor.
According to the statement, they told investigators they had fled Gezuwa following sustained military offensives against terrorist enclaves in the area.
The intercepted individuals have been handed over to the 21 Military Intelligence Regiment for profiling and further investigation, while the four arrested suspects and recovered exhibits have also been transferred to the appropriate military intelligence units for further action.
Operation HADIN KAI said the operations reflect the effectiveness of its intelligence-led strategy aimed at disrupting terrorist logistics networks and weakening insurgent capabilities.
The military also appealed to members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing counter-terrorism efforts across the North-East.
