The people of Ngboji Community in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday, commended the army for the robust civil – military relation with the community.
The people made the commendation as the army commissioned the renovated Ngboji community hall in the area.
The project according to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Waidi Shaibu is part of the army s coperate social responsibility to strengthen civil/military cooperation.
The Ngboji project was amongst projects inaugurated in the state in commemoration of the 2026 Arms Forces Remembrance Day.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Chief Kingsley Douglas, the paramount ruler of Ngboji community commended the army for the project and assured on continued cooperation.
According to him, the intervention by the army would go a long way to further foster cooperation in the community.
Other residents of the community expressed joy, saying the renovated hall would once again promote an enabling environment for communal discourse.
Earlier, Maj. Gen. Muhammed Wase, General Officer Commanding 1 Division Kaduna, who represented the chief of army staff, commended the community for their collaborative efforts and enjoined them to keep trusting the army.

Emphasizing the role of the civil community in the pursuit of national security, the army chief urged communities and sister agencies to continue to collaborate with the army to enhance efficiency.
“We cannot underestimate the indispensable role played by the people in the pursuit of our national security objective in a multifaceted dynamic security environment.
“It is on this backdrop that we are engaging in non- kinetic operations of which civil/ military cooperation remained a cornerstone of our efforts.
“The Nigerian Army has so far commissioned more than 250 interventions aimed at complementing government efforts and enhancing civil/military relationship,” he said
