Host nation Nigeria produced another impressive display on Day Two of the 2026 African Nations Cup Beach Volleyball Zone 3 Qualifiers in Badagry, Lagos State, with both the men’s and women’s teams recording convincing victories to boost their qualification hopes.
In the men’s competition on Sunday, Nigeria I defeated Liberia 2-0, winning 21-12, 21-6 to maintain their strong start to the tournament.
Elsewhere, Ghana II overcame Benin II in straight sets (21-14, 21-17), while Niger Republic I cruised past Liberia 21-8, 21-9.
Benin I also secured a 2-0 victory over Ivory Coast I with scores of 21-12 and 21-16. Ivory Coast later bounced back by defeating Benin II 2-0 (21-19, 21-14).

A decisive golden set between Benin I and Ivory Coast ended 15-8 in favour of Benin, while Ivory Coast I also swept Liberia 2-0 with set scores of 21-6 and 21-13.
The women’s competition also produced dominant performances from the Nigerian teams.
Nigeria I outclassed Ivory Coast I 2-0, winning both sets 21-9 before defeating Ghana I in another straight-set victory, 21-11 and 21-13.
Nigeria II maintained their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over Ivory Coast II (21-12, 21-18) before overcoming Ghana II 21-18, 21-15.
Other women’s results saw Ghana I defeat Niger Republic I 21-19, 21-11, while Ghana II edged Niger Republic II in three sets, 21-18, 17-21, 15-5.
Niger Republic I battled past Benin I 2-1 after winning the deciding set 15-8 following a 21-14, 13-21 split in the opening sets.
Benin Republic II defeated Ivory Coast II 2-0 (21-8, 21-9), while Ivory Coast I overcame Benin Republic I 2-0 with identical 21-17 set victories before sealing the tie with a 15-8 golden set win.
Action continues on Day Three with crucial fixtures across both categories.
In the men’s matches, Ghana I will face Nigeria I, Ghana II will take on Nigeria II, Niger Republic I will battle Benin I, while Niger Republic II will meet Benin II.
The women’s schedule features Nigeria I against Niger Republic I, Nigeria II versus Niger Republic II, Ghana I against Benin I, Ghana II against Benin II, Ivory Coast I facing Nigeria I, and Ivory Coast II taking on Nigeria II as teams continue their quest for qualification from the Zone 3 tournament.
