As preparations continue for the expanded 48-team 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, FIFA has highlighted the countries with the highest number of appearances in tournament history.
Leading the list is Brazil, which remains the only nation to qualify for every edition of the World Cup since the competition began in 1930.
FIFA noted that the 2026 tournament will mark Brazil’s 23rd appearance — the highest ever recorded.
