The senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Sen. Olubiyi Fadeyi, has lost his bid for a second term after being defeated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to results announced by the Chairman of the Osun APC Primary Election Committee, Bayo Ayo, a legal practitioner, Adekunle Adegoke emerged winner of the Osun Central primary with 26,655 votes.

Sen..Fadeyi polled 13,138 votes to finish behind Adegoke, while other aspirants recorded lower tallies. Yomi Ogunwale secured 2,925 votes, Akintunde Adegboye received 342 votes, and Olu Fakeye polled 67 votes.
In the Osun East Senatorial District, Sen. Francis Fadahunsi won the APC ticket after scoring 23,593 votes.
Sen..Fadahunsi defeated Famurewa Israel and Thomas Ogungbangbe, who polled 472 and 806 votes respectively.
The senator, who currently chairs the Senate Committee on Industry, was first elected to the Senate in 2019, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform and was re-elected in 2023 before defecting to the APC in 2025z alongside four other PDP lawmakers.
Meanwhile, in the Osun West Senatorial District, businessman and insurance executive, Akin Ogunbiyi clinched the APC ticket with 30,568 votes.

His closest challenger, Gafar Akintayo, secured 1,215 votes, while Peter Ogundeji, who had earlier withdrawn from the race, received 14 votes.
Reacting to the conduct of the primaries, the Osun APC leadership commended party members for what it described as peaceful and orderly elections across the state.
In a statement signed by the party’s spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, the APC urged aspirants and their supporters to avoid inflammatory comments capable of creating divisions within the party.
The party also advised aggrieved contestants to make use of constitutional channels provided by the APC to address any complaints arising from the exercise.
