Edin Terzic has agreed to become the new head coach of Athletic Club, signing a two-year deal with the Spanish side.
The 43-year-old former Borussia Dortmund manager will officially take over at the start of next season, replacing Ernesto Valverde, who confirmed in March that he will step down after four years in charge.
Terzic returned to management after leaving Dortmund in 2024, following a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley.

During his time in Germany, he guided Dortmund to the 2021 German Cup, narrowly missed out on the Bundesliga title in 2023, and reached Europe’s top club final in 2024.
Before his spells as Dortmund boss, Terzic worked as an assistant to Slaven Bilić at Beşiktaş and later at West Ham United.
Athletic Club had also been linked with a move for Andoni Iraola, who is set to leave AFC Bournemouth this summer.
The Bilbao-based side currently sit eighth in La Liga with four matches remaining this season.
