The senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Sen..Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has declared support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Oluwole Oluyede, ahead of the June 20 governorship election, describing him as a leader with the capacity to drive inclusive development in the state.

Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan made the declaration during the PDP campaign grand finale held in Ado-Ekiti, where party supporters, stakeholders and various interest groups gathered in a final push ahead of the poll.
According to a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by her media aide, Mike Idoko, the senator spent several days in Ekiti State mobilising support for the PDP candidate across different communities.
Addressing party faithful and members of the Ebira community at the rally, the senator said Oluyede stands out among the contestants based on his perceived understanding of grassroots challenges and commitment to public service.
She said the PDP candidate had demonstrated the capacity to connect with ordinary citizens, including market women, youths, civil servants and community leaders, whom she said were central to his development agenda.
According to her, leadership must be anchored on fairness, inclusivity and responsiveness to the needs of the people, adding that Oluyede embodies those principles.
“One of the reasons I am strongly supporting Dr Oluyede is his commitment to building an inclusive government where every group and community has a sense of belonging,” she said.

Sen..Akpoti-Uduaghan further described the PDP candidate as a bridge-builder capable of uniting diverse ethnic and social groups in the state while ensuring equitable access to opportunities.
She expressed confidence that voters in Ekiti State would make informed decisions in the election, noting that the electorate was politically aware and capable of evaluating candidates based on their records and promises.
The senator also disclosed that she had undertaken extensive mobilisation visits across several communities in the state, including areas with significant Ebira populations, urging residents to participate actively in the electoral process.
She called on eligible voters to turn out on election day and support the PDP candidate, stressing that participation was crucial to shaping the future of the state.
The Ekiti governorship election is expected to be closely contested as political parties intensify final campaigns across the state.
