The newly appointed Administrator for Andoni Local Government Council of Rivers State, Mr. Atajit Francis, has read the riot act to workers of the council, warning that his administration will not condone laxity and negligence of duty.
The administrator gave the warning at the council headquarters, Ngo, shortly after his resumption of duty on Tuesday.
At a meeting with the head of the local government administration, the council boss stated that the third tier of government requires diligence to deliver people-oriented services.
He said that under his watch, under-performance and dereliction of duty will not be condoned.
“While we are on the saddle, we shall reward diligence and hard work. We urge staff to work towards achieving set goals.
“My mandate is specified, which includes sanitation, environmental development, job creation, primary education, and primary health care.

The administrator said that transparency and integrity were critical to effective grassroots development and service delivery.
“So I expect all staff to uphold the highest ethical standards and accountability in the discharge of their duties,” he further said.
It would be recalled that the Rivers Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas, recently appointed administrators for the 23 local government councils in the state.
