The collapse of the 33kV Jambutu feeder tower has resulted in prolonged power outages across several locations, including Modibbo Adama University, Girei, Hayin Gada, the Federal Housing Estate, and neighbouring communities that depend on the feeder line for electricity.
Officials described the 33kV Jambutu Feeder as a critical component of the area’s electricity distribution network, serving residential neighbourhoods, educational institutions, businesses, and other economic activities across Yola North and adjoining communities.
The management expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the outage and appealed to residents for patience and understanding while repair works continue.
Authorities also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and assist in safeguarding electricity infrastructure, noting that vandalism and unauthorized interference remain significant threats to stable power supply.
“We appeal for continued understanding and cooperation as we work to restore normal service,” the statement noted, adding that regular updates would be provided as reconstruction progresses.
The restoration team assured customers that work would continue uninterrupted until electricity supply is fully restored to all affected communities connected to the feeder line.
