The Anambra State Police Command has deployed 60 “Safe School” operatives across designated centres ahead of the 2026 examinations conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the deployment is aimed at ensuring safety, security, and orderliness throughout the exercise, scheduled to run from April 15 to April 26, 2026.
Ikenga explained that the operatives will be stationed across the state’s eight police area commands, with coordination led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Harrison Oruruo.

According to him, the initiative forms part of the command’s proactive strategy under the “Safe School” programme, designed to create a secure environment for candidates, invigilators, and examination officials.
He added that the deployment will also help prevent examination malpractices, disruptions, and any potential security breaches during the exercise.
The police spokesperson further assured residents of the command’s continued commitment to protecting lives and property, urging candidates and stakeholders to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security personnel on duty.
