The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old man, Isiaka Hassan, over the murder of a five-year-old boy, Abba Bashiru, in Tingno, Lamurde Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, said the incident was reported by the child’s mother, Hadiza Bashiru, who told police that her son was last seen with the suspect before he went missing.
Acting swiftly, police officers from the Tingno Division, led by the divisional police officer, apprehended Hassan.

During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to conspiring with another individual who is still at large to kill the boy and bury him in a shallow grave.
The victim’s body was later recovered by police and taken to a hospital for autopsy.
The state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the case and ensure the arrest of the fleeing accomplice.
The police command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice is served and called on members of the public to support ongoing efforts to combat violent crime in the state.
