The police recorded a string of successful operations across the country, arresting suspected terrorists, cultists, murder and armed robbery suspects, while also recovering firearms, a stolen vehicle and arresting alleged railway vandals.
According to the police operational report covering the last 24 hours, the most significant operation took place in Imo State, where operatives of the Intelligence Response Unit (VCRU) raided a suspected terrorist hideout in Eziudo, Ezinihite Mbaise Local Government Area.
The operation led to the arrest of four armed suspects, the recovery of three pump-action guns, 30 live cartridges, Biafra flags, military and police uniforms, recruitment forms, charms and photographs of alleged group leaders.
Police investigators said the suspects allegedly confessed to ongoing recruitment activities and involvement in multiple terrorist attacks across Imo State.
In a separate operation in Owerri, the police arrested 23-year-old Opara Ikechi and four other suspected cultists at Bishop’s Court.
Recovered from the suspects were locally fabricated pistols, live ammunition, a dagger and a suspected confraternity scarf.
In Benue State, police arrested one Nancy Sunday for allegedly killing her one-month-old stepdaughter by smashing the infant’s head, while the child’s mother, Miracle Sunday, was away in Anambra State
In Lagos State, the police arrested Damilare Oladuni Orija, for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old identified simply as Jide to death with a pair of scissors at Agboyi 1, Alapere-Ketu.
Also, in Ebonyi State, police officers arrested 22-year-old Ezekiel Francis Akam at his hideout in Oriuzor, Ezza North Local Government Area following intelligence provided by local vigilantes.

The police said the suspect is linked to an armed robbery case reported in December 2025, while in Akwa Ibom State, the police arrested Divine Effiong Udo, after responding to reports of gunshots in Ikot Obong Otor village.
In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the police recovered an abandoned ash-coloured Peugeot 406 with registration number GWA 124 GP at the basement of 21st Mall, Gwarinpa,, where it had remained unclaimed for 15 days.
Investigations are underway to establish ownership. Also in the FCT, the police arrested Ikoh Precious, and Fabian Agaar, over the alleged vandalisation of critical railway infrastructure.
The police said the suspects forced an oncoming train to make an emergency stop and allegedly incited residents after the incident.
