The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a six-man kidnapping syndicate involved in the abduction of one Mr. Hassan in the state.
The police revealed that it received a tip on September 7, 2026, about the kidnapping of Hassan on September 6, 2026, at the vicinity of Fidelity Bank, Garrison, Port Harcourt.

It said the victim was taken to Igbugulu Waterside, Borikiri, Port Harcourt, where he was held captive for three days before he was released following the payment of a ₦10.3 million ransom by his relatives.
During investigation into the kidnap of the victim, the police added that two suspected members of the kidnap syndicate were arrested.
The command’s spokesperson, ASP Blessing Agabe, who said this in a statement on Monday, disclosed the names of the suspects as Victor Ifeanyi, aka Big Boby, a native of Aguleri Community in Anambra State, and Aniekan Okon Michael, aka Duff Man, a native of Ikot Ukpor in Akwa Ibom State.
The statement said that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects confessed to their alleged involvement in the operation and further disclosed that the gang comprises six members who used a white mini-bus (Keke bus) during the kidnap operation.
The police said the command has intensified efforts to apprehend the remaining members of the syndicate and bring them to justice.

CP Appeals For Public Support
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has called on members of the public to provide credible information that would assist the police in identifying and apprehending criminal elements, assuring that such information will be treated with the necessary confidentiality.
The commissioner of police reiterated that the command will continue to deploy intelligence-led operations to disrupt kidnapping syndicates and other criminal networks across the state, while urging residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.
