The leadership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State has raised the alarm over the increasing rate of churches being burgled by miscreants who cart away musical instruments and other valuables.
Chairman of the PFN in Ozoro, Rev. Saturday Oyibo, who disclosed this during an interview with our correspondent, said the development is one of the major challenges confronting churches in the community.
Oyibo stressed that the theft of church property could disrupt worship activities and place additional financial burden on the congregation of the affected worship centres.
He urged churches to strengthen their security measures, including the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, while advising members to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements around their places of worship.

The PFN chairman also highlighted the fellowship’s contribution to community development, explaining that its monthly conference is rotated among different communities to bring churches and residents together through prayers, the word of God and other activities.
According to him, the fellowship also organises programmes aimed at supporting youths and discouraging them from crime, drug abuse and other social vices, as part of efforts to promote a safer and more responsible community.
Oyibo further called for continued prayers and cooperation among residents in addressing insecurity, while encouraging Christians and community members to participate actively in church programmes and remain security-conscious.
