Henry Okoye, elder brother of former P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye, has accused their brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, of playing a major role in the longstanding rift within the Okoye family.
Key Highlights
- Henry Okoye accuses Jude Okoye of contributing significantly to the longstanding rift within the Okoye family.
- Henry claimed he was P-Square’s first sponsor, supporting Peter and Paul financially when they were struggling to establish themselves.
- He said he travelled with the duo to shows, provided his car for promotions and sometimes acted as their bodyguard.
- Henry alleged that Jude only became involved after P-Square had begun making progress in the music industry.
- He claimed their late mother initially opposed Jude managing P-Square, citing concerns about his character.
Henry made the allegations during an interview with Nollyserve, published on YouTube on Friday, where he also claimed he was among the family members who financially supported P-Square when the music duo was still struggling to establish itself.
According to him, he was the group’s first sponsor and also travelled with Peter and Paul to shows, using his car to help promote their performances and sometimes serving as their bodyguard.
Henry said Jude was not involved in those early efforts, insisting that he only became involved after P-Square had started making progress in the music industry.
“When they started this music, they were looking for sponsors. They didn’t get a sponsor. When I started sponsoring them, Jude was not there.
“We would travel from state to state for music. They used my car for flyers. I did bodyguard with them. We were supporting them as a family, but we knew it was Peter and Paul that owned it,” he said.
He alleged that their late mother initially objected to Jude managing the group because she was allegedly concerned about his character.
“Before you could know it, Jude came in. We wanted to allow Jude to manage them, but my mum disagreed. She said she knew the kind of character Jude had,” Henry claimed.
Henry further alleged that Peter and Paul gradually became distant from other members of the family after Jude became involved in the management of P-Square.
“What happened at last is that they started running away from everybody. We never knew that it was Jude that was causing the problem,” he alleged.
He also claimed that Peter and Paul had promised him 20 percent from each show because of his early financial contributions, but alleged that he never received the money.
According to Henry, Jude later questioned the basis for the arrangement and allegedly accused him of wanting to benefit from the duo’s earnings despite not being involved in their later success.
Henry further claimed that Jude attempted to push other family members away, including their immediate elder brother, Tony Okoye, who was once involved with P-Square as a dancer.
He said his relationship with Jude has also deteriorated, claiming that they have not spoken for nearly two years.
Henry alleged that Jude failed to contact him even when he spent two months in hospital, while Peter and Paul reportedly called to check on him.
“I was admitted into the hospital for two months. Peter used to call me. Paul used to call me. Jude never called me once to know how I’m feeling,” he said.
He also alleged that the family’s youngest sibling is currently struggling in Lagos, claiming that Peter has been the one making efforts to assist her.
Henry expressed particular concern over what he described as a change in Paul’s attitude towards the family.
“In our family, Paul was the nicest person before, but the way he changed, I’m surprised. I don’t know how to put it,” he said.

He subsequently made an unverified insinuation about whether Jude had somehow influenced Paul, but provided no evidence to substantiate the claim.
Henry also expressed doubts about the possibility of Peter and Paul permanently resolving their differences while Jude remains influential in their affairs.
“I’ll be happy for them to come back together, but the problem I’m having is that I don’t think they’ll come back because Jude has made all of us become enemies,” he alleged.
The latest claims come amid renewed public attention on the Okoye family feud following Peter’s recent multi-part video series addressing his dispute with Jude.
Peter has accused Jude of financial misappropriation and alleged that his elder brother issued death threats against him. Those claims remain allegations in the ongoing family dispute.
Peter has also rejected suggestions that Jude single-handedly built P-Square, while acknowledging the contribution Henry made to the group during its early years.
