The family of late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has debunked reports circulating on social media that his daughter, Shakirat “Kira” Taiwo, has given birth to a baby boy.
The clarification was issued on Wednesday by Haleemah “Lima” Taiwo, another daughter of the late actor, following the circulation of a video claiming that Kira had welcomed a newborn.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page, Lima urged members of the public to disregard the report, describing it as false.
She said the family had received several calls and messages from concerned friends and relatives seeking confirmation about the alleged birth, prompting them to publicly address the claim.
Lima wrote, “DISCLAIMER. Please disregard the information currently circulating that my sister has given birth. This is not true.”
She appealed to the public to stop spreading unverified information about the family, particularly as they continue to mourn their father.
“At a time when our family is mourning the loss of our father, we kindly ask everyone to stop spreading or sharing unverified information about our family,” she added.
The viral report was accompanied by a short video describing the alleged newborn as “My Daddy’s Carbon Copy” and claiming that the birth occurred only days after Ogogo’s burial.

The family, however, maintained that the claim was untrue and appealed for privacy and understanding during the mourning period.
Ogogo, a prominent figure in Yoruba-language cinema, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.
The veteran actor was buried according to Islamic rites on Monday, August 24, in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
His death has continued to attract tributes from colleagues, fans and members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, with several actors paying tribute to his contributions to Yoruba cinema.
