The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Nasarawa State has arrested a 20-year-old wheelbarrow pusher, identified as Alfa Ali, stabbing his colleague, Hayyatu Ibrahim, to death following a disagreement over business dealings.
The incident occurred in the Angwan Maina Park area of Lafia Local Government Area of the state, where both men worked.
According to the NSCDC, a heated argument broke out between the duo two days before the attack over who would transport goods that had arrived in Lafia from Jos, the Plateau State capital.
While parading five suspects arrested for various crimes in the state, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the command, Muhammed Suraju, confirmed the arrest.
He revealed that Ali used a horn to stab Ibrahim during the altercation.
“On April 10, 2025, at about 2:00 pm, our men on patrol within the Lafia metropolis apprehended one Alfa Ali, age 20, who allegedly stabbed his colleague, Hayyatu Ibrahim, to death with a horn,” Suraju stated.

“He was about to take to his heels when he was arrested.”
Despite being rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Lafia, Ibrahim was pronounced dead on arrival.
Suraju further disclosed that both the suspect and the deceased hailed from Jigawa State and had a prior dispute over who would handle a delivery assignment at the park.
Investigations revealed that Ali had nursed a grudge over the issue, which ultimately led to the fatal attack.
“The case lingered in Alfa Ali’s unforgiven heart until he finally achieved his nefarious aim by sending the deceased, Hayyatu Ibrahim, to his early grave,” he said.
The suspect has reportedly confessed to the crime.
NSCDC state Commandant, Muhammed Kabir Ingawa, has directed that Ali be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
