The Taraba State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned its members, executive committee members and candidates against indiscipline, disloyalty and activities capable of undermining the party’s unity and interests ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The warning was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Comr. Mandela Adashoh Philibus, as political activities intensify across the state.

NDC Taraba Warns Against Anti-Party Activities
The Taraba NDC said it would not tolerate activities capable of weakening the party’s structures, stressing that members and officials were expected to operate within the framework of the party’s constitution.
According to the statement, the party has the authority under its rules to investigate allegations of indiscipline and anti-party activities involving members, executive committee members and candidates.
It added that anyone found culpable would be subjected to appropriate disciplinary measures in accordance with the party’s constitution and relevant regulations.
The party urged members and candidates to uphold its rules and avoid conduct capable of compromising its integrity or undermining its collective interests.
Party Urges Members To Respect Leadership Decisions
The NDC Taraba chapter also called for greater adherence to decisions taken by the party’s leadership.
It advised members who disagree with such decisions to use established internal mechanisms to seek redress rather than engage in activities that could create divisions within the party.
The state chapter said maintaining internal discipline and cohesion was essential to protecting the integrity of the party’s structures at all levels.

NDC Strengthens Party Discipline Ahead Of 2027
The Taraba warning comes amid a broader emphasis by the NDC leadership on discipline and adherence to authorised party structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At the national level, the party recently dissociated itself from a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council announced by the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement, saying the structure was not authorised by the party. The NDC National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses, said only the party leadership could constitute and announce its Presidential Campaign Council.
The party also warned members, candidates and support groups against creating or announcing campaign structures in the party’s name without approval from its National Working Committee.
NDC National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, subsequently said support groups should complement the party rather than operate as parallel political structures.
Against this backdrop, the Taraba chapter reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing party discipline in accordance with its constitution while urging members to work collectively to advance the NDC’s interests in the state.
