A business tycoon, Chief Eta Enahoro, has endorsed the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr Goodnews Agbi, for Governor of Delta State in his Camp David, palatial country home, Oyede, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Chief Eta described Dr Goodnews Agbi as one of the few individuals who does not sell out, compromise or bought over, ‘he sees black and calls it, black’.
He said, “Truth has become farther from the people on the ground that those who are supposed to be standing up for the Isoko nation are those who have become government appointees and, as a result, cannot speak the truth even if it is bare to the face.”
According to him, “Gone are the days where elections could be rigged for a preferred candidate because of the INEC’s BVAS system. Also, with the revolution and the way the parties are trending in the State now, it would be difficult for anybody to say he or she would deliver a candidate because people are more concerned about the individual and not the party now.
He, therefore, expressed confidence in Dr Agbi’s antecedents, and pledges his support for him, noting that not because he is his elder brother but because he is the best candidate that can be trusted in these trying times in the state.

“The antecedents of Dr Agbi are not tainted and they speak volumes. Therefore, nobody can stop me from supporting Agbi, now that he is contesting. I am also appealing to everyone to support him, irrespective of the political party that you belong to,” he said.
On his part, the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Dr Goodnews Agbi, said that it was not intentional he never came before now to consult High Chief Eta Enahoro but wanted to lay to rest all the hiccups that reared their heads during the struggle for his candidacy.
He added that he has come to consult and officially inform him as the voice and conscience of the Isoko nation, that his support will be the direction Isoko will vote.
“I have come to tell you that I am in the governorship race. It will be unheard of that your brother and also a son of Isoko extraction is in the Delta State governorship race, without informing one of the richest and most influential Isoko men, the ‘Dangote’s and Odetolas’ of Isoko nation. I have come to also have your nod,” Dr Agbi said.
Dr Agbi was accompanied by the NNPP House of Assembly candidates of Isoko North and Isoko South Constituency 1, Dr Urughome Daniel and Chief Oyibo Clement respectively; Chief Okolie Chris from Ndokwa-East, among other supporters.
