Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has told his supporters that he would no longer engage in any battle to chart a political path for himself.

The governor said he has rather reunited with his former political family headed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

In essence, the governor said he is now part and parcel of the Rainbow Coalition led by Wike and enjoined all who believe in him to support President Bola Tinubu and all candidates being projected by the Rainbow Coalition in the state for the 2027 general election.

Governor Fubara made the declaration at the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction and equipping of the Riven Medical Facility, a public-private partnership pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Rivers State.

“President Bola Tinubu is our president, and he is the one we are supporting. The governorship candidate is the candidate I am supporting, and anybody who believes in me will support every candidate under the Rainbow Coalition,” Governor Fubara said.

Rejecting suggestions that he should delay his political decision, the governor declared: “I am already in the family. I have returned to our family.

“Give your total support to the coalition. The time of war is over; it is now time for peace, and that peace will take us to another level.”

“I am not party to anything that will bring any form of disunity in this state. We have done what we need to do, and now we are moving forward.”

Speaking on the Riven Medical Facility project, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing the necessary support for the investment, explaining that he approved the project after receiving firm assurances on its viability and delivery schedule.

He disclosed that the first phase of the pharmaceutical factory would be completed within three months, describing the project as a major industrial investment expected to stimulate economic growth, create jobs and position Rivers State as a leading centre for the production of medical consumables.

According to him, the facility would also attract local and international investors while encouraging the establishment of ancillary industries around the project.

The governor pledged continued government support for the investors and urged members of the host community to cooperate with the company to ensure the project’s successful delivery.

Governor Fubara also disclosed that the Rivers State government is currently engaged in litigation with several companies over contractual claims exceeding ₦200 billion, noting that his administration is determined to avoid disputes capable of undermining investor confidence.

Expressing confidence in the project’s execution, he said the first phase of the pharmaceutical facility would be ready for commissioning within the next three months, describing it as a significant step in the state’s industrialisation drive.”
