The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2026 NECO SSCE result, with candidates now able to check their results online through the council’s official result-checking portal.
The results of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal were announced on Thursday by NECO Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, at the council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
A total of 1,378,048 candidates registered for the examination, while 1,371,992 eventually sat for the examination.
NECO said 804,948 candidates, representing 58.67 percent, obtained at least five credits, including English Language and mathematics.
The council also disclosed that 1,162,118 candidates, representing 84.70 percent, obtained five credits and above irrespective of their performance in English Language and mathematics.
The 2026 NECO SSCE was conducted between June 15 and July 23, 2026, while the nationwide marking exercise took place from August 17 to September 4.
The examination was conducted across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as six foreign countries — Benin Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Niger Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo and Saudi Arabia.
NECO also reported that 1,406 candidates were involved in reported examination malpractice, while 1,334 candidates with special needs participated in the examination.
Candidates looking for how to check 2026 NECO SSCE result can do so online using their examination registration number and a valid NECO result-checking token.
To check the 2026 NECO SSCE result, candidates should visit the official NECO results portal at results.neco.gov.ng and select 2026 as the examination year.
Candidates who sat for the June/July school-based examination should select SSCE INTERNAL (JUN/JUL) as the examination type.
They should then enter their result-checking token and NECO examination registration number in the appropriate fields before clicking on “Check my result.”
If the details entered are correct and the result is available, the candidate’s 2026 NECO SSCE result will be displayed on the screen.
Candidates can save a digital copy of their results or print them for future use.

Those who do not have a valid result-checking token can purchase one through the official NECO results portal by selecting the “Purchase token” option and following the instructions provided.
Candidates are advised to ensure that they use the official NECO portal when checking their results and avoid unofficial websites requesting examination details or payments.
The release of the 2026 NECO SSCE result now allows candidates to access their grades and proceed with plans for their next academic steps.
