The 36-year-old midfielder opened his Chelsea account barely two minutes into the encounter, firing past Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic after being set up by Cole Palmer.
Chelsea doubled their advantage moments later when Henderson provided the assist for Morgan Rogers, whose effort was credited as a goal following a video assistant referee (VAR) review.
The hosts went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead after dominating the opening exchanges and capitalising on Bournemouth’s defensive lapses.
Joao Pedro Strikes Twice
Chelsea continued their impressive start to the second half as Joao Pedro extended the lead just after the restart, finishing into the top-right corner following good work by Pedro Neto.
Bournemouth briefly threatened a comeback when Evanilson reduced the deficit to 3-1 in the 51st minute, taking advantage of a loose ball inside the Chelsea penalty area.
However, Joao Pedro restored Chelsea’s three-goal advantage in the 67th minute, tapping home a cross from Pep Chavarría.
Henderson completed the scoring three minutes later with a superb 25-yard free-kick that beat Petrovic, sealing a memorable afternoon for the former Brentford midfielder.

Boost For Alonso
The victory ended Chelsea’s four-match winless run and lifted them into the Premier League’s top five, providing a timely boost for manager Xabi Alonso.
Chelsea’s improved midfield balance was another positive, with Henderson and Moises Caicedo starting together for the first time this season.
Their partnership helped provide greater stability after the Blues had conceded 12 goals in their opening five league matches.
Despite the convincing victory, Chelsea were unable to keep a clean sheet, while Bournemouth’s defensive errors continued to undermine their efforts.
The defeat extended Bournemouth’s winless start under manager Marco Rose, leaving the Cherries with just three points from their opening six league matches and outside the relegation zone only on goal difference.
Rose admitted his side had failed to perform at the required level, particularly during the opening minutes of both halves.
He acknowledged that Chelsea deserved the victory and urged his players to confront the team’s poor start to the campaign.
For Chelsea, the result offered renewed optimism as their attacking players continued to deliver, while Henderson’s two goals marked an impressive beginning to his career at Stamford Bridge.
