  • The FRSC reported a 56% reduction in crashes involving Dangote Cement trucks between 2025 and 2026.

  • FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed praised the company’s transport safety reforms.
  • Dangote Cement said it introduced AI-driven monitoring and advanced inspection systems to improve logistics safety.

Speaking during a visit to the FRSC Headquarters on Friday, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed praised Dangote Cement for setting high standards in transport safety management and encouraged the company to sustain the reforms already transforming road transportation in the country.

According to the Corps Marshal, comparative data between 2025 and 2026 showed a 56 per cent reduction in crashes involving Dangote Cement trucks.

He also disclosed that fatalities linked to the company’s trucks dropped by 36 per cent, while injuries declined by 52 per cent within the same period.

Mohammed attributed the improvement to the successful implementation of Dangote Cement’s transport safety reforms and Gap Analysis strategy, which he described as worthy of emulation by logistics operators across Africa.

He said the company’s achievements demonstrate the positive impact of prioritising safety in industrial transportation operations.

“When industry leaders get safety right, the benefits extend to the entire nation and the continent at large,” the Corps Marshal stated.

Earlier, Dangote Cement’s Head of Transport, Murilo Silva, highlighted the company’s continued investment in advanced transport management systems aimed at improving efficiency and reducing accidents on Nigerian roads.

According to Silva, the company has deployed automated inspection technologies and artificial intelligence-driven solutions to strengthen operational safety and monitor transport activities more effectively.

He explained that the innovations form part of Dangote Cement’s broader commitment to safer logistics operations and improved road transportation standards.

The commendation comes amid growing concerns over the rising number of road crashes involving heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles across Nigeria.
