The federal government has announced plans to evacuate another 270 Nigerians from South Africa as fears over xenophobic attacks continue to grow.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, an Air Peace aircraft will depart Lagos for Johannesburg at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, to bring back Nigerians who have chosen to return home voluntarily.
The aircraft is scheduled to leave Johannesburg at midnight and arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos by 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, if all goes according to plan.
