A dramatic scene unfolded in court as Nigerian social media personality VeryDarkMan and cryptocurrency entrepreneur Blord briefly set aside tensions to exchange a handshake during an ongoing impersonation case.
The case, filed by VeryDarkMan against Blord, stems from allegations of impersonation.
Blord was earlier arraigned in early April and subsequently granted bail, reportedly with support from activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore, who was present in court.
Despite the handshake, VeryDarkMan made it clear that the dispute had taken on a more personal tone, stating that the matter had evolved into a question of pride and a determination to prove that Sowore “cannot do anything.”
Sowore, known for his outspoken stance on political and social issues, appeared unfazed, even making light of the situation by referencing what he described as a shared “ex-convict” history during courtroom exchanges.

Meanwhile, proceedings were further complicated as VeryDarkMan’s legal team simultaneously handled a separate defamation suit, adding another layer to the already tense legal battle.
Outside the courtroom, tensions escalated when Sowore confronted former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, raising allegations of past persecution during Malami’s time in office.
The case highlights the growing trend of social media disputes escalating into legal confrontations in Nigeria.
As of now, no ruling has been delivered, and the matter may be adjourned for further hearings.
