The controversy surrounding the death and burial of Nollywood actress and content creator, Nimmy Ferrari, has taken a dramatic turn after her parents gave conflicting accounts over her newly completed house in Sagamu, Ogun State.

Key Highlights:

  • Nollywood actress Nimmy Ferrari, 26, died reportedly from complications after fibroid surgery.
  • Her newly completed house in Sagamu became her burial site instead of hosting her planned housewarming.
  • Her mother accused the paternal family of planning to sell the property.
  • Her father denied the claims and said he helped secure family land and build the house.
  • The conflicting accounts have sparked a family dispute over Nimmy’s property and legacy.

Nimmy Ferrari, whose real name was Adesanya Nimota Omotolani, died at the age of 26, reportedly following complications from fibroid surgery.

Her death reportedly occurred shortly before she was expected to hold a housewarming ceremony for her newly completed property.

She was subsequently buried at the house, turning what was supposed to be a celebration of her achievement into her final resting place.

The family drama began after Nimmy’s mother publicly cried out over what she described as a dispute with her daughter’s paternal family.

In a video circulated online, the grieving mother alleged that members of Nimmy’s father’s family did not want her daughter buried in the house and were interested in selling the property.

She claimed she had five children with Nimmy’s father and alleged that Nimmy was the only surviving child from their relationship.

The mother further claimed that she was responsible for Nimmy’s education, including her university education, alleging that her father did not contribute financially to her schooling or medical treatment.

She also alleged that a previous disagreement with Nimmy’s father over school fees resulted in a physical confrontation in which she sustained an injury to her head that required stitches.

According to her, she agreed to Nimmy being buried in the house because her daughter had no children and she wanted the property to preserve her legacy.

She insisted that she has no intention of taking the property for herself because she already has her own house.

“Help me, they want to sell the house off,” the grieving mother alleged in the emotional video.

However, Nimmy’s father has responded to the allegations, rejecting the narrative surrounding his daughter’s death and the ownership of the property.

Speaking about his daughter’s final days, he said he could not have harmed her, explaining that Nimmy personally contacted him after she had already gone to the hospital for fibroid surgery.

“I can’t kill my child,” he said. The father said Nimmy told him that her scan fees had already been paid and that the surgery was expected to cost about ₦3.6 million.

He claimed he recommended a doctor he knew in Abeokuta after learning about the procedure and gave his account of how Nimmy Ferrari’s house came to be built.

According to him, Nimmy had told him that she wanted to build her own property. He claimed he subsequently approached family elders, who agreed to allocate a portion of family land to her.

The father further alleged that he was involved in building the house and claimed Nimmy had specifically asked him not to tell her mother about it.

“While I was building the house for her, she begged me not to let her mother know about it,” he reportedly said.

He also claimed that the first piece of land Nimmy acquired was through her mother but that the land was later sold by her.

The conflicting accounts have now turned Nimmy Ferrari’s house into the centre of an emotional family dispute barely days after her death.
