Delta police arrest suspected armed robbers, other criminal elements

Delta State Police Command has arrested some suspected armed robbers, cultists, and drug dealers. The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Edafe Bright, made this known in a press release on Friday.

Bright said the Command’s Safe Delta Tactical Squad that was deployed to head-bridge the boundary between Delta and Anambra States during a stop and search operation, arrested one Innocent Uboh, a native of Ogume in Ndokwa West LGA of the State, with 1124 rounds of cartridges, twenty (20) bottles of codeine, and other illicit drugs allegedly belonging to a man identified as Monday Adibeli.

He added that the alleged owner, Adibeli who is 61 years old was traced to Ogume, his home town and apprehended by the police.

The Police PRO said Investigation is ongoing. He further disclosed that a criminal hideout at Okwagbe Community in Isoko North LGA of the state was also raided by Crack Surveillance Operatives on 1st June 2022, leading to the arrest of three suspected drug dealers, Alex Johnholt, Abe Ujiro, and Omoro Joy.

“During the raid, three suspects namely; Alex Johnholt ‘m’ age 32yrs, Abe Ujiro ‘f’ age 25yrs, Omoro Joy ‘f’ age 26yrs were arrested. One hundred and five {105} wraps of SK weeds, six {6} wraps of loud, sixteen {16} wraps of substance suspected to be cocaine, four {4} wraps of Indian hemp, four {4} litres of monkey tail, sixty (60) packs of razlers, one Indian hemp grinding device were recovered from them.

suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded,” DSP Bright said. In another development same day, police officers attached to the Bomadi Divisional Patrol team intercepted a motorcycle rider carrying three passengers during a stop and search operation along Bomadi/Oboro Road.

“The team subjected them to a search during which one English Pistol was recovered from one of the passengers named Destiny Ebibo ‘m’ age 22yrs of Oboro Community but stays in Abraka.

“One red beret suspected to be of the Icelanders confraternity was also recovered from the other suspect named George Terrence ‘m’ age 22yrs of Okpokunou Community. They have been taken into custody and investigation is ongoing,” he added.
