The seventh day of action at the 3rd CGC Volleyball Premier League (first phase) in Abuja produced high-intensity encounters across both the men’s and women’s categories, with the standout moment coming from the men’s side as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) ended the unbeaten run of the Nigeria Customs Service.

  • NSCDC ended Nigeria Customs Service’s unbeaten run with a 3-0 victory in the men’s competition.
  • Nigeria Customs had earlier defeated Kano Pillars 3-0.
  • Nigeria Police edged UCEM VC 3-2 in a thrilling five-set match.
  • In the women’s category, NSCDC beat NAF Rockets 3-0.
  • Day 7 featured major upsets, close contests and dominant performances in Abuja.

In the headline clash on Sunday, NSCDC delivered a commanding 3-0 straight-sets victory over CNS Spikers (25-23, 25-22, 25-23), a result that not only underlined their growing form but also halted Nigeria Customs Service’s unbeaten momentum in the competition.

 

Earlier, Nigeria Customs Service maintained their strong start with a dominant 3-0 win over Kano Pillars (25-18, 25-19, 25-21), showing their attacking strength before later being checked by NSCDC’s resilience.

Elsewhere, fans were treated to a five-set classic as UCEM VC pushed the Nigeria Police Force to the limit before falling 2-3 (23-25, 28-26, 25-18, 22-25, 10-15).

 

Another marathon encounter saw Life Camp VC edge Offa VC 3-2 (28-26, 25-19, 23-25, 26-28, 17-15), while COAS Spikers overcame Ajase Ipo VC 3-1 (27-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18).

 

In the women’s fixtures, NSCDC continued their impressive form with a straight-sets victory over NAF Rockets (25-14, 28-26, 25-20), asserting authority from start to finish.

 

Nigeria Customs Service also impressed in the women’s draw, sweeping past CNS Spikers 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-19) with a composed performance.

 

COAS Spikers produced one of the most convincing wins of the day, defeating Benue Queens 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-13), while Kada Emeralds were also in dominant form, brushing aside Anambra Queens 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-20).

 

Elsewhere, Fire Service recovered strongly to beat Excelsior VC 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-8, 25-13), while VIP & Partners VC recorded a straight-sets win over Life Camp VC (25-17, 25-18, 25-13).

 

Day 7 of the CGC Volleyball Premier League delivered a mix of upsets, endurance battles, and dominant displays, with NSCDC’s statement win over CNS Spikers standing out as the defining moment ending Nigeria Customs Service’s unbeaten run and reshaping the men’s competition standings heading into the next round.
