President of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3, Ali Yaro, has backed Nigeria to defeat Morocco in their quarterfinal clash at the 2026 African Men’s Volleyball Nations Championship in Tunisia.
Nigeria will take on Morocco in the last eight on Monday, September 21, after securing a place in the quarterfinals of the continental championship.
Yaro expressed confidence in the ability of the Zone 3 champions to overcome their North African opponents and book a place in the semifinals.
The CAVB Zone 3 president also congratulated Nigeria and Ghana on reaching the quarterfinals, describing the progress of both teams as a positive development for the zone.

According to Yaro, Nigeria have the quality and strength required to challenge Morocco, although he acknowledged that the encounter would not be an easy one.
“I want to congratulate Nigeria and Ghana for making it to the quarterfinals. We are sure of making it to the top eight,” Yaro said.
He added that he had watched Morocco’s earlier match against the Democratic Republic of Congo and noted that Nigeria’s players and coaching staff had also studied their opponents.
“For Nigeria’s match against Morocco, I watched the Morocco team against DR Congo. The Nigerian players and their coaches also watched the match,” he said.
Yaro urged Nigeria to approach the quarterfinal with determination, insisting that the team has the ability to secure a semifinal berth.
“Nigeria have the strength to beat Morocco. It’s not going to be easy, but if Nigeria plays seriously, they can make it to the semifinals,” he said.
