The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed grief over the death of the Founder and General Overseer of All Christian Fellowship Mission Worldwide (ACFM), Rev. William Uzochukwu Okoye.
Rev. Okoye died on July 15, 2026, in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, at the age of his death.
Speaking during a Service of Songs held in his honour, CAN President, Archbishop Daniel C. Okoh, described the late cleric as a committed nation-builder who dedicated his life to preaching biblical teachings and serving humanity.
Okoh said Rev. Okoye would be remembered for his role as a revivalist in Abuja and across Nigeria, as well as for his contributions to the work of CAN.
He noted that the late pastor served as CAN’s National Director on Nigeria Issues, a position through which he contributed to discussions on economic, political and social matters affecting the Christian community.
The CAN president urged Christians and members of ACFM to draw comfort from the legacy Rev. Okoye left behind, stressing that the deceased devoted his life to serving God and humanity.
Okoh also recalled that the cleric served at the Aso Rock Villa Chapel in Abuja during the administrations of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Arc. Ifeanyi Odedo, said the death of Rev. Okoye should inspire renewed spiritual commitment within ACFM and encourage the emergence of more leaders committed to the Christian faith.
Odedo described the deceased as a man who played different roles in the lives of those who encountered him.
“Rev. (Dr.) William Okoye was several things to different persons. To some, he was the ‘Radio Pastor’; to others, he was an Apostle of Faith; and to many, he was a gospel crusader; a Pastor after God’s heart; to some, he was a leader par excellence and epitome of integrity,” he said.
In his message at the Service of Songs, Pastor of Peace House, Gbiko, Bro. Gbile Akanni, drew from 2 Timothy 4:5-8 to remind Christians of the eternal reward awaiting those who remain faithful to God.

Goodwill messages were also received from the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry Worldwide, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, as well as the General Overseer of Nigeria Prays.
The Service of Songs was attended by CAN officials, members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), bishops and Christian ministers from across the 36 states of Nigeria.
Rev. Okoye’s death has left members of ACFM and the wider Christian community mourning a cleric whose ministry was closely associated with evangelism, Christian leadership and service to society.
