WWE icon Brock Lesnar has officially announced his retirement from professional wrestling after suffering a defeat to Nigeria-born superstar Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam 2026.
Lesnar made the announcement during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, describing the emotional contest in his home state of Minnesota as the perfect moment to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career.
“I’m here today to let the world know that I am retired. Saturday was a very emotional day for me,” Lesnar said.
The former WWE and UFC heavyweight champion disclosed that he initially contemplated retirement after losing to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42, but decided to return for one final match because he believed he still had “some fuel left in the tank.”
