Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has disclosed ongoing collaboration with the federal government to strengthen security in the state following a resurgence of Boko Haram attacks.
In a statewide broadcast on Saturday, he highlighted measures including strengthening of security architecture and intelligence sharing, enhanced support and equipment for security agencies, bolstering volunteer forces such as the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), hunters, and vigilantes and improved community-level intelligence and early warning systems
Gov. Zulum emphasized President Tinubu’s commitment and assurances from the service chiefs to address the security crisis head-on.

He also addressed water scarcity in Maiduguri, attributing it to damaged infrastructure from the September 2024 floods, and assured residents of ongoing restoration efforts.
To combat increasing crime in urban areas, the governor announced the reconstitution of the anti social vices vommittee.
Gov. Zulum called on citizens to observe a voluntary fast on Monday, invoking spiritual unity to pray for peace in Borno State, the North East, and the country.
He described fasting as a communal act of resilience and shared purpose.
