Deputy National Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ben Akak, has urged stakeholders of the party in Cross River State to aggressively mobilize voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akak, who gave the charge on Thursday, May 21, 2026, during a monitoring and assessment tour of the party’s governorship primary across the state, said the voter mobilization is to attract greater federal presence to the state.

He expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout of party members and the affirmation of Governor Bassey Otu’s candidacy across the local governments.
Speaking during the monitoring exercise in Calabar South, Calabar Municipality, Odukpani and Akamkpa, he noted that Cross River State occupies a unique and special place in the heart of the party’s national leadership due to the stellar performance of Gov. Otu.
The APC national officer highlighted the governor’s developmental strides across various sectors, including infrastructure, entrepreneurship, pension reforms, and gender inclusion.

He also commended the Cross River chapter of the party for conducting a peaceful and orderly governorship primary election across the state.
“The message from the national headquarters is clear: Cross River State is special, and that’s why this delegation was sent,” he said.
Also speaking during the monitoring exercise, the APC South South Zonal Organizing Secretary, Prince Edward Ajang, confirmed that the massive compliance witnessed during the monitored locations reflects the people’s love for Gov. Otu.
Ajang noted that Cross River remains the flagship of the APC in the South-South region and appealed to party stakeholders to maintain absolute unity and loyalty to the party’s decisions.
