Two suspects, Temitope Akinwale, 22, and Habeeb Jimoh, 21, have been apprehended by operatives of the Ondo State security outfit, code named, Amotekun, for killing a commercial motorcyclist and stealing of motorcycles.
The suspects arrested in Oba-Akoko axis of Akoko South-West council area of the state were paraded at the Corps Headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure.
The Commander of Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye during the parade claimed that it took them (Amotekun) extra effort before arresting the suspects.
Adeleye disclosed that one of the suspects was apprehended in Ogun State, following an alliance with the Amotekun Corps in the state.
“We have a case of one of them that specialises in killing okada riders, taking over their motorcycles, dismantling and sending them out of the state.
“We tracked him to Ore. From Ore, we arrested three of his accomplices and the ring leader escaped to Ogun State.
“We contacted the Amotekun in Ogun State who assisted us in apprehending him. We have him back here now,” he said.
“One of them had a knife in his pocket when they confronted the Okada man and when he was about to overpower them, the one with the knife slaughtered him and went away with his Okada.”

Confessing to the crime, Temitope Akinwale, 22, said he was arrested after a ring his friend assured him of working failed.
“My friend had assured me that he has a ring that he will use to hit the okada rider which will make him lose consciousness. But the ring did not work. With the failure of the ring to work on the okada man, we attacked and overpowered him.”
The 22-year-old admitted how they enticed their victims to isolated areas before pouncing on them.
“I picked an okada man from Oba-Akoko junction to Araromi. I had already told my friend to wait at the junction so that we would snatch his motorcycle from him.
“My friend had assured me that he has a ring that he will use to hit the okada rider which will make him lose consciousness. But the ring did not work,” he said.
However, Akinwale said they did not kill their victims during operations.
