Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has disassociated himself from governors alleged to have been stealing funds meant for the Local Governments from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
Akeredolu said this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier said some state governors are stealing from local government councils’ federal allocations.

Buhari said this in his speech at the presidential parley for members of the Senior Executive Course 44 (2022) of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) at the State House on Thursday.
The statement stated that the Akeredolu-led administration has not touched funds meant for Local Governments since its inception.
“As a matter of policy, monies meant for Local Governments are shared at their monthly Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC). Mr Governor doesn’t touch local governments’ funds. The local government Chairmen can attest to the fact that they have total freedom in the management of their funds,” the statement added.
