The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has confirmed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has paid ₦90 million for the party’s presidential nomination form ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party made the disclosure in a statement posted on its official X account, alongside a receipt showing that the payment was made through a bank draft.
According to the receipt dated May 8, 2026, the payment covered the ADC presidential nomination form, with official receipt number 2881 issued to Atiku.
The ADC described the development as an important milestone in what it called a growing movement for national renewal and democratic inclusion within the party.
It added that the formal presentation of the nomination forms would take place on Monday, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The party also used the announcement to project itself as a strong alternative force in Nigeria’s opposition politics, ahead of the 2027 presidential race.
Atiku’s move has intensified speculation over possible political realignments within the opposition, as parties continue consultations and coalition-building ahead of the next general election.
The latest development comes amid increased political activity within the ADC following recent moves involving former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and other opposition figures.
