A’ Ibom senator to inaugurate 33 new projects

No fewer than 33 life touching projects have been earmarked for inauguration by the Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District (Akwa Ibom North-West), Obong Chris Ekpenyong before the end of the month.
Speaking with our Correspondent in Uyo on Monday senator Ekpenyong, who described his stint in the Red Chamber, as eventful and worthwhile, ruled out second term plan adding that the period has brought him closer to the grassroots to understand their feelings and challenges.
Ekpenyong; a former Deputy Governor of the state reviewed his performance in the past years and expressed satisfaction with his performance.
He said his tenure as a senator will witness the inauguration of 33 constituency projects spread across the 10 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom North-West.

He explained that he has initiated and sponsored some bills seeking to bring development projects to the state and assured that before his tenure lapses in 2023, “the people will experience the full impacts of my representation”.
Senator Ekpenyong listed such projects to include skill acquisition centre, solar-powered water project, markets, school renovations, construction of classroom blocks, road projects and empowerment of youths in vocational trainings and scholarships.
Ahead of the general elections, Ekpenyong, warned the electorates against sentiments in making choices, explaining that “Nigeria is in dire need of patriotic and capable leaders with the zeal to reinvent Nigeria”.
“I was sent by my people and, I am happy to report progress that several development projects have been attracted alongside bills that will improve the standard of life of our communities and the people”, he said.
