Navy Intensifies Fight Against Crude Oil Theft
The Navy spokesman said the operation was conducted under Operation DELTA SENTINEL, adding that it followed other recent operations by FOB BONNY targeting crude oil theft and illegal refining activities within its area of responsibility.
He said previous operations had also uncovered substantial quantities of suspected stolen crude oil and equipment linked to illegal refining.
Folorunsho said the Navy would continue to strengthen surveillance and monitoring across waterways and communities in the area to prevent criminals from establishing or reactivating illegal refining sites.
He added that the measures were aimed at denying criminal operators the infrastructure required to sustain crude oil theft and related activities.
The latest operation comes amid continued efforts by security agencies to curb crude oil theft, illegal refining and other activities affecting Nigeria’s oil-producing communities and petroleum sector.
