Ebonyi North Indigenes Gather in Lagos
The gathering, held at Recreational Hotel in Lagos, brought together Ebonyi North residents living in different South-West states.
The organisers described the turnout as an indication of interest among Ebonyi indigenes living outside the state in the forthcoming elections.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of a Certificate of Endorsement to Ojimba as the preferred choice of the participating group for the Ebonyi North Senatorial District.
Organisers Explain Support for Ojimba
Speaking during the event, one of the organisers, David Nkwuda, said the decision to support the candidates was based on what the group described as the need for purposeful, responsive and development-oriented representation.
Nkwuda said the participants attended the gathering voluntarily because they believed Ebonyi North needed representatives who would listen to constituents and articulate their interests.
“We did not come here because anybody compelled us. We came because we believe our people deserve representation that will listen to them and speak for them.”
He said the gathering also demonstrated that political discussions concerning Ebonyi North extended beyond the geographical boundaries of the senatorial district.
“Our people are everywhere. We live and work across Nigeria, including the South-West, and we remain deeply connected to the future of Ebonyi North. What happens in 2027 concerns all of us.”

Group Endorses Ojimba for Senate
The presentation of the Certificate of Endorsement to Ojimba formed the central part of the gathering.
The organisers said the certificate represented the collective position of the participating residents and their commitment to mobilising support for the APGA candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ojimba has been involved in grassroots political activities in Ebonyi North, with several groups publicly declaring support for his Senate bid in recent months.
Support Also Declared for T-Man
The participants also reaffirmed their support for Ogalagu, popularly known as T-Man, who is contesting the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency seat on the APGA platform.
The group linked the two campaigns to what it described as a broader demand for effective representation, grassroots engagement and greater attention to constituents’ interests.
“Ojimba for Senate and T-Man for House of Representatives is the message coming from this gathering. We are taking this message back to our communities and to our people wherever they are,” the participants said.
South-West Mobilisation Gains Attention
The Lagos gathering may form part of a wider mobilisation effort among Ebonyi North indigenes living outside the state.
With Ebonyians resident in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun and other South-West states, political gatherings involving residents outside Ebonyi are becoming part of the activities surrounding the 2027 elections.
The organisers said the Lagos endorsement was only part of a broader mobilisation exercise, adding that consultations and engagements with Ebonyi North residents would continue.
The gathering comes amid increasing political activity in Ebonyi ahead of the 2027 elections, with other community and youth groups also publicly expressing support for candidates in the state.
