The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a temporary disruption, urging tertiary institutions to accelerate the 2026/2027 admission process.

In a statement issued on Monday, the board said CAPS had been fully restored and was now operational, allowing institutions to continue processing admissions.
“With CAPS back online, institutions are urged to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the agreed admission deadlines,” JAMB said.
The board also advised candidates who receive admission offers to accept them promptly to avoid delays in the admission process.
JAMB said public universities must conclude their 2026/2027 admission exercise by October 31, 2026, while private universities have until November 30 to complete their admissions.
For other tertiary institutions, the board fixed December 31, 2026, as the deadline for concluding the admission exercise.

JAMB further urged candidates who had previously been awaiting their examination results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results.
The board said the update was necessary to ensure that candidates’ credentials were available for consideration as institutions resumed and intensified their admission processes.
“Following the release of the 2026 NECO SSCE results, candidates who previously awaited their results are advised to upload and/or verify them promptly to ensure their credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes,” the board said.
JAMB expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
