How to apply for INEC ad hoc staff recruitment
- Go to the INECPRES portal at pres.inecnigeria.org on a laptop or phone.
- Read the eligibility rules and pick the one category you qualify for: SPO, RAC Manager, PO, APO or RATECH.
- Register and fill in your details for the state where you live (RATECH applicants are exempt from the residence rule).
- Upload the documents requested for your category and submit before midnight on 18 November 2026.
- Returning applicants should enrol under the category that applies to them now, then watch the portal and their email and phone for training and deployment notices.
INEC portal problems and how to fix them
The INECPRES portal is slow or will not load
Traffic rises sharply as the deadline approaches. Try early in the morning or late at night, use an up-to-date browser such as Chrome on a laptop, and type pres.inecnigeria.org yourself instead of following links shared on WhatsApp. Do not wait for 18 November.
My OTP has not arrived
Check that you typed your phone number and email correctly, look in your email spam or junk folder, and wait a few minutes before requesting a new code. Repeated requests in quick succession can slow things down.
I forgot my password
Use the password reset option on the INECPRES login page and follow the steps sent to your registered email or phone. Never give your login details to anyone offering to “help” with your application.
I chose the wrong category or state
Contact the INECPRES helpdesk through INEC’s official website, and do not create a second account. Duplicate registrations can lead to disqualification.
Someone is asking me to pay to be selected
INEC recruitment is free. Anyone asking for money or your password is a scammer. Report them to the police or to INEC.

The RAC Manager position is linked to schools and other institutions designated to host Registration Area Centres or Super RACs. The head of a school or a staff member of a hosting institution may qualify, subject to Grade Level and other conditions.

INEC permanent staff recruitment 2026
Apart from ad hoc election staff, INEC ran a recruitment for entry-level permanent staff from 20 to 27 July 2026. It covered professional cadre roles on Grade Levels 09, 10 and 12, including accountant, clinical officer, lawyer, ICT officer, engineer and quantity surveyor, as well as Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer, GL 08) and Executive Officer (Registration Officer, GL 07). Professional applicants needed a relevant degree, professional certification, at least two years of post-qualification experience and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
