A United Kingdom court has adjourned the plea and trial preparation hearing involving Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, to February 2027 after the entertainer was unable to enter a plea at the scheduled hearing.

According to a report by BBC News Pidgin published on Tuesday, Snaresbrook Crown Court fixed February 8, 2027, for the next hearing, when Poco Lee is expected to indicate whether he pleads guilty or not guilty to the charges against him.

The case came before the court on September 15, but Poco Lee did not appear because the charge sheet was reportedly unavailable.

As a result, the scheduled hearing could not proceed and no plea was entered.

The BBC reported that the plea and trial preparation hearing has now been rescheduled for February 8, 2027, while the trial itself is set to begin on March 8, 2027.

The court had earlier granted Poco Lee bail on September 11 following his first appearance.

His initial plea and trial preparation hearing had been fixed for September 15, but the absence of the charge sheet prevented the matter from progressing.

Supporters of the entertainer were also reportedly present at the court. According to the BBC report, the gallery was filled to capacity, while some others waited outside the court premises.

Poco Lee’s case attracted public attention after reports circulated on social media that he had been taken into custody by UK authorities over allegations against him.

Following his first court appearance, reports also emerged that he had been granted bail. The Snaresbrook Crown Court subsequently confirmed the bail decision to the BBC, with the entertainer remaining on bail.

Poco Lee rose to prominence around 2018 after videos of his Zanku and legwork dance performances gained widespread attention online.

His performances later attracted the attention of singer Zlatan Ibile, leading to collaborations between the two entertainers.

Poco Lee has subsequently performed alongside several leading Nigerian artistes, including Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and Naira Marley.

He has also pursued a music career, releasing songs including YARD and Otilo.

The entertainer studied microbiology at the Lagos State University and has been associated with the growth of street dance within Nigeria’s mainstream pop culture, particularly during the Zanku era.
