The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has published the names of candidates offered admission into the 78th Regular Combatant Course (78RC), alongside those placed on the reserve list.
The announcement followed the Armed Forces Selection Board exercise conducted from July 4 to August 19, 2026, during which candidates were assessed for admission into the Academy.
According to a statement signed by the NDA Registrar, Brigadier General O.A. Ogunleye, and posted on the academy’s X handle on Wednesday, successful candidates are to report to the NDA Ribadu Campus (Old Site) in Kaduna on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
The academy gave candidates until Monday, September 14, to complete their reporting, warning that anyone who fails to meet the deadline will lose their admission slot.
Only candidates listed as successful are required to report at this stage. They will be received at the Drill Shed of the NDA Old Site, Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna.
Candidates on the reserve list are not required to report immediately. The academy said they could be contacted if vacancies arise, using the email addresses and telephone numbers provided during their application.
Those offered admission have been instructed to arrive with the original copies of their required credentials.
The documents include the First School Leaving Certificate, Primary School Testimonial, WAEC or NECO results, Senior Secondary School Testimonial, birth certificate or declaration of age and letter of state of origin.
They are also required to present the original copy of their duly endorsed parent/guardian consent form.
The NDA warned that candidates who fail to produce the original documents will not be admitted, adding that photocopies of the required credentials will not be accepted.
Beyond their academic and personal documents, admitted candidates are expected to come with specified clothing, footwear, sports equipment, bedding and other personal necessities for their training.
The required items include black and white trousers, a dark-coloured lounge suit, national dress, black cover shoes, white and brown canvas shoes, football boots, a hockey stick, white shirts, socks, bed sheets and a pressing iron.
Female candidates are expected to bring additional items, including black low-heel cover shoes, dark-coloured lounge skirts, black or blue short tights and trouser suits.
The academy also directed all successful candidates to upload their O’Level results on the JAMB portal before arriving for training.

Candidates who have been offered admission into a department different from their preferred choice are required to use the JAMB portal to make the necessary changes.
All admitted candidates must also accept their admission through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) before reporting to the Academy.
The NDA further informed candidates and their parents or guardians that newly admitted cadets will not be permitted to receive visitors or leave the Academy during the first three months of training.
The academy urged all successful candidates and their parents or guardians to comply fully with the reporting requirements and other instructions issued for the 78RC admission exercise.
