The wife of content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has defended her husband following his arrest over allegations concerning the death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro, insisting that the case should be determined through due process rather than social media commentary.

Agbro reportedly travelled from Warri to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna allegedly offered to mentor her in content creation. She later accused him of taking her to a hotel and sexually assaulting her in a video circulated online. She subsequently died by suicide.

Key Highlights:

  • Odogwu Asaaba’s wife has publicly defended her husband over allegations involving Favour Agbro.
  • She denied allegations that Ogbonna raped or killed the 20-year-old.
  • She urged the public not to rely on social media judgments in the case.
  • Delta State Police confirmed Ogbonna’s arrest following a petition concerning the incident.
  • The allegations remain subject to police investigation and due process.

Odogwu Asaaba’s Wife Defends Husband

Following Agbro’s death, human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe reportedly petitioned the authorities over the matter, leading to Ogbonna’s arrest.

The Delta State Police Command, through its spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest.

Weeks after the development, Ogbonna’s wife released a video in which she defended her husband and urged the public to allow the relevant authorities to establish the facts of the case.

She said she remained firmly behind her husband and had taken time to gather information before deciding to speak publicly.

“Odogwu Asaaba is my husband, and I stand with him 100%. I am not going to turn my back on him. How I feel, what I feel, and how I see this matter is my personal decision,” she said.

According to her, she decided to speak after learning more about the circumstances surrounding the case.

“Everything is not actually how they presented it. Before I could come out to talk, I learnt a lot about this matter.

“Social media is not a courtroom, and we do not do these things with emotions,” she stated.

 Wife Denies Rape, Murder Allegations

Ogbonna’s wife acknowledged the death of Agbro but strongly rejected allegations that her husband raped or killed her.

“Yes, someone has died and that is why we are taking it easy. Someone has died and it is painful, but Odogwu Asaaba did not kill anybody. He did not rape Favour,” she said.

She further claimed that Ogbonna had an affair with Agbro but maintained that there was no rape.

“He only had an affair with the said girl. There is no way Odogwu Asaaba raped Favour. I know my husband. He didn’t. He can’t rape. He has never!” she said.

Case Remains Under Investigation

The comments come as public attention continues to focus on the circumstances surrounding Agbro’s death and the allegations against Ogbonna.

The allegations against the content creator remain unproven. The circumstances surrounding Agbro’s death and the claims against Ogbonna are expected to be determined through investigation and due legal process.
