Fresh allegations have surfaced against Nollywood filmmaker and content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, after a Nigerian woman identified as Nnenna recounted an alleged encounter she claims to have had with him in 2018. The claims emerged days after the Delta State Police Command confirmed his arrest in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman who later died.

Key Highlights:

  • A woman identified as Nnenna has shared allegations about an alleged 2018 encounter with Odogwu Asaba.
  • She claims the filmmaker repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances toward her.
  • The allegations surfaced following Odogwu Asaba’s arrest over a separate alleged rape case.
  • Delta State Police say investigations into the recent case are ongoing.
  • The filmmaker has not publicly responded to the woman’s latest allegations.
  • The claims remain unverified, and no court has found him guilty of any offence.

The allegations were contained in a series of posts shared on X (formerly Twitter), which were obtained by our correspondent. They followed the announcement by the Delta State Police Command that Ogbonna had been arrested in connection with an alleged rape case involving a 20-year-old woman who later died.

Woman Recounts Alleged 2018 Experience

According to Nnenna, the incident allegedly occurred on April 12, 2018, while she was working at a shop in Ochanja Market, Onitsha, Anambra State.

She claimed that Odogwu Asaba was a regular customer who frequently visited the shop to eat and often gave generous tips, gestures she initially interpreted as kindness.

However, she alleged that his behaviour later became inappropriate, accusing him of repeatedly making sexual advances towards her.

Reflecting on the experience, she wrote:

“Only God knows what I would have turned into if I didn’t escape. Maybe a bitter soul, a walking dead or an actual dead person. But I escaped him.”

 Alleged Repeated Advances

Nnenna further alleged that the filmmaker persistently pressured her into having sex, claiming he had a preference for virgins.

According to her post, he allegedly told her:

“It won’t pain you. There’s always a first time for everything.”

She also expressed regret that she lacked the technology and social media awareness in 2018 to document the alleged encounter.

“How I wish I had the phone capabilities and social media awareness back in 2018 that we have today. Gathering evidence or recording videos would have been so much easier,” she wrote.

 Arrest Sparks Fresh Allegations

Her account comes shortly after the Delta State Police Command confirmed the arrest of Odogwu Asaba in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman who reportedly died.

Police authorities have stated that investigations into the case are ongoing.

 Allegations Yet to Be Proven

As of the time of filing this report, Ifeanyi Ogbonna (Odogwu Asaba) has not publicly responded to Nnenna’s allegations.

It is important to note that the claims made in her social media posts remain allegations and have not been independently verified. Likewise, no court has convicted the filmmaker of any offence relating to either the recent case or the allegations raised by Nnenna.
