The Delta State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla and arrested two men over the alleged possession of Tramadol in separate operations conducted across the state.
The command disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.
According to the statement, the police received a report on August 13 concerning the theft of an ash-coloured 2003 Toyota Corolla with registration number WW-579MD.
The vehicle was reportedly stolen while parked at Awani Close, Ajamugha, Warri.
Following the report, detectives from the ‘A’ Division, Warri, worked with operatives of the Dragon Patrol Team to track down the vehicle.
The police said the Corolla was recovered along Winners Church Road, Ughelli, approximately two hours after the theft was reported.
The command said efforts were ongoing to identify and apprehend those allegedly responsible for stealing the vehicle.
In a separate operation carried out on the same day, operatives of Operation Delta Shield intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ZBL-549-XA along Nnebisi Road, Asaba.

The vehicle was stopped as part of a stop-and-search operation, after which police operatives conducted a search.
According to the command, the search led to the discovery of 132 sachets of 100mg Tramadol.
Two men identified as 54-year-old Hillary Osondu and 54-year-old Abubakar Bello were subsequently arrested in connection with the recovered drugs.
The police said the suspects remained in custody while investigators continued with the case.
The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the officers involved in both operations for what he described as their prompt response and effective policing efforts.
Oyeniyi urged personnel across the command to maintain proactive and intelligence-led operations in the fight against crime.
He also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with credible information that could assist in preventing criminal activities.
The commissioner assured members of the public that the command would continue to deploy its available resources towards protecting lives and property and improving security across Delta State.
