Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has sparked debate on social media after expressing hope that popular TikTok couple Peller and Jarvis signed a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot.

Key Highlights

  • Delta Governor’s aide Ossai Ovie Success congratulated TikTok couple Peller and Jarvis on their court wedding but questioned whether they signed a prenuptial agreement.
  • Ossai argued that a prenup is important when marriage, wealth, fame, and business interests intersect.
  • He said both Peller and Jarvis have built successful personal brands and should clearly define ownership of assets, businesses, and future earnings.
  • According to him, prenuptial agreements provide legal clarity and protect both spouses without implying a lack of trust.
  • Ossai maintained that a prenup can help prevent future disputes, reduce family interference, and avoid unnecessary social media controversies.

Reacting to news of the couple’s recent court wedding, Ossai congratulated the newlyweds but said he would be disappointed if they entered marriage without a prenup, arguing that financial planning is essential when wealth, fame and marriage intersect.

In a post shared on his Facebook page, Ossai wrote:

“I hope Peller and Jarvis signed a prenup before getting married. Congratulations to them, but I am disappointed if they didn’t. I say this as someone who wants to see them win. Marriage is sweet, but marriage + money + fame + internet? That one needs wisdom.”

He explained that both Peller and Jarvis have built successful careers and personal brands independently, making it important to establish clear ownership of assets, businesses and future earnings from the outset of their marriage.

According to him, public figures often face additional pressure because public interest extends beyond their relationship to include endorsement deals, business ventures, gifts and investments. He argued that a prenuptial agreement provides legal clarity and helps protect both spouses.

Ossai further stated that a prenup is not an indication of distrust or an expectation of divorce but a practical measure for safeguarding individual and joint interests.

“Peller has brands, streams and gifts. Jarvis has her own career and brand too. A prenup makes it clear what belongs to who, so business doesn’t kill love. Signing a prenup doesn’t mean you’re planning divorce,” he said.

He added that such agreements could also minimize future disputes, reduce family interference and prevent unnecessary social media controversies should disagreements arise later in the marriage.

The comments have generated mixed reactions online. While many social media users agreed that prenuptial agreements are a sensible financial safeguard, particularly for wealthy and high-profile couples, others argued that introducing a prenup at the beginning of a marriage could undermine trust and send the wrong message about the relationship.

The debate has reignited conversations around the role of prenuptial agreements in modern marriages, especially among celebrities, influencers and entrepreneurs whose personal relationships are closely followed by the public.
