Popular TikToker Peller had everyone at his court wedding laughing after expressing shock over a legal warning issued by the marriage registrar during the ceremony.
As the couple prepared to exchange their vows, the registrar explained that marriage is a legally binding union and warned that committing bigamy, marrying another person while still legally married is a criminal offence punishable by a minimum of five years in prison without the option of a fine.
The registrar told the couple:
“In a competent court of jurisdiction, if any of you go against the rules, he or she is guilty of an offence called bigamy. It is punishable by a minimum of five years imprisonment with no option of fine. Any objection? Should I proceed, or do you want to go and rethink?”
Clearly surprised, Peller interrupted the ceremony to seek clarification.
