The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has charged 12 newly appointed permanent secretaries to abide by their oath of office by doing right to every man and woman as they resume duties at their new positions.
Governor Fubara gave the charge on Wednesday, during the swearing – in ceremony of the new appointees at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Among those sworn-in are Mr. Freddy Ndigbara, Mrs Fortune Akpila, Promise Oguzie, Mrs. Ibisoye Nwankwo, Mrs. Ibiyemibara Uzoma and Mrs. Mercy Iboroma.
Others include Vincent Wachukwu, Mr. Ifeanyi Ogboma, Mina Jim-Jaja, Mr. Henry Uzor, Mr. Chimenum Anebo Mpi and Mina Ikuru.
The oaths were administered by the Deputy Chief Registrar (Administration), High Court of Rivers State, Magistrate Betty Sunny-Hart.
After the appointees had taken the oath, Governor Fubara reminded them that their appointment is an elevation to the highest managerial cadre in the civil service, and enjoined them to justify the confidence reposed on them by bearing true allegiance to the state.
Governor Fubara expressed optimism that their coming on board at this particular time will help his administration achieve its goals.
He reminded them that their appointment is not for personal gains, but to advance the goal of moving the state forward.

“It is a call to service. You are the heads of your ministries; wherever you may be sent. You are at the peak of the managerial cadre of the civil service, the highest of our service.
“You are at the head, so you need to do the work as somebody who is at the head. So, I believe that your coming on board will bring changes and effectiveness to the system.
“When we are done with our own, I believe that your good work will help whoever is coming to take over from us to also continue with the good work in our dear state,” he said.
Governor Fubara congratulated all the newly sworn-in permanent secretaries and wished them the best in their service to Rivers State.
