The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its fight against crime with the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect and the recovery of a stolen 2016 Toyota Corolla Sport worth an estimated N18 million.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, disclosed the development in a statement issued in Yola.
According to the statement, the vehicle owner had entrusted the car to Mohammed Dan-Azumi, 26, a resident of Girei Local Government Area, for washing. Instead of returning the vehicle, the suspect allegedly drove it to an unknown destination, prompting the owner to report the incident to the police.
Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID), Yola, launched a coordinated operation that tracked the suspect to Kano State, where he was arrested. The stolen Toyota Corolla was also successfully recovered during the operation.
The police confirmed that investigations are ongoing and assured that the suspect will be arraigned in court upon the completion of the investigation.
Commending the operatives for their professionalism and swift response, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Kabiru Umar Hassan, reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.
